Catholic Teachers Urged to be Catholic to their 'Fingertips'
GLASGOW, Jun. 27, 2006 ( www.totalcatholic.com) - Catholic teachers should be "Catholic to your fingertips" according to the Bishop of Paisley.
Presiding a recent Graduation Mass at the University of Glasgow for Catholic students being awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Education [PGDE] (Primary) Bishop Philip Tartaglia praised "the great tradition of Catholic primary school teaching."
"It is not enough to put on a Catholic façade when you walk through the doors of the school and to satisfy the demands of your contract," said Bishop Targaglia.
"It is important, in fact essential for the authenticity of Catholic education, that you are Catholic to your fingertips in the way you think and in the way you live."
